I will be taking a break from Blogging for the next 2 to 3 weeks. It has become necessary for me to move home and this will be taking place over this period – so it’s packing, cleaning, transporting, etc, for the next few weeks. I may be able to get back to Blogging before 3 weeks, we’ll see how the move all goes. There is a lot to do though.
My trip away has not been great, as I fell ill on the very first day and quickly went downhill from there. I was close to a trip to the emergency department at one stage, though things have now greatly improved. I am currently undergoing treatment and need time to recover fully. So it looks like I will be away from the Blog for another week. Back soon – I hope 🙂
There will be no posts for the next week or so as I’m off on vacation – going camping, bushwalking, etc. Cya 🙂
We are starting a new book in the reading group.
This week we start reading the small book, ‘Five Points – Towards a Deeper Experience of God’s Grace,’ by John Piper. This week we read the first two chapters (‘Preface’ and ‘Historical Roots’).
If you don’t have a copy you can get a free PDF file of the book at the Desiring God website. I always try to source a book to read in this group that is available for free somewhere so that everyone can participate with little cost or difficulty.
You can obtain a free copy of this book at:

The latest Windows 10 update has basically trashed my computer. The update was installed automatically, so I wasn’t expecting it to happen. I had just turned the computer on and when I returned to it after allowing it to boot, there it was ‘installing.’ Anyhow, it failed and the computer is now unusable.
So what this means is that I will not be able to post in the ‘usual’ way for some time – very disappointing.
I wasn’t going to have a break from posting blog posts over Christmas – New Year, but I have now decided that I will. I’m just too tired not to have a break. So at some point I’m going to go bush, throw up the tent and read some books (modern-style). I could really use the break right now. Still, from time to time I may post something I come across. This will be an extended period, from the time I post this update, through to the middle of January 2018. From that point I’ll get back to more regular posts.
So let me take this opportunity to wish you all a great Christmas and New Year, and enjoy the time with family and friends if you can. – now something for a parting laugh
Hi all – just a quick note to let you know I’m taking a short break from the Blog. I’ll be away from the Blog for about a week. Thanks.
